DISCUSSION (Ask students to recap the message).
At the end of his message, Jeremy asked the question, “will you trust God’s plan over your own?”
What is your initial, honest response to this question? Why/why not? What mixed feelings does it bring?
Mary’s dreams were put on hold to follow God. How does it feel to have things you looked forward to changing at the last minute?
How would you respond if you were Mary?
What was Mary’s response? (Read Luke 1:36).
When is it hard to trust in God?
What do you have to lose in trusting God? But, what is the gain?
Mary’s trust in God grew her relationship with Him and she had the opportunity to honor him as she would be the mother of Jesus, the promised Savior!
DIGGING DEEPER
Mary was able to trust the unexpected plan for her life because she trusted the One behind the plan - God.

APPLICATION
We learned about who God is, but do you trust that is who God is? Why or why not?
As Christians, we will always be learning and growing in trusting God (LEADERS: share about how you are still growing in trusting God).
The first step is trusting Him with your life (LEADERS: share what this means *Gospel push*).
When we have put our faith in Jesus and trust Him with our lives, we continue to learn about who God is and how to trust Him which brings us back to the first question:
Will you trust God’s plan over your own?
What plan or unplanned part of your life right now do you have to trust God with?
What fears come with trusting Him with that?
How do you respond like Mary?
