Beyond/Outreach Team

The Beyond Team is a group of people willing to roll up their sleeves and engage deeply in our community and around our world. We go beyond the walls of our church with the gospel to strengthen families, end poverty, and seek justice. We want to see children protected and families supported so they can flourish in God’s original design. We want to see effective gospel-centered community development that leads to an end to physical and spiritual poverty. We want to fight unjust systems and stand with the vulnerable and marginalized like Jesus always did.

Northridge CarePortal Team - Respond to needs vetted by Monroe County caseworkers to support foster families and families in crisis.
Special Events - Help to plan, set up/breakdown, decorate & execute events for Beyond partners or Rochester City Schools at our campuses throughout the year (i.e. Trunk or Treat, Conferences, student/teacher training)
Serve Directly - Each of our partners have volunteer pipelines to serve our community directly. We can’t be the experts at meeting every unique need, but we are committed to coming alongside the experts in our community with resources and volunteers!
Mentor youth in the foster care system (1 yr commitment) - Hope585
Welcome Refugees by serving as a host home, conversation partner in English class, or a cultural companion (3-month commitment) - World Relief WNY
Serve as a Board Member - Use your skills in business (MBA), law, or finance (CPA) to provide needed governance to a local non-profit organization

Church Online

The Church Online Team plays a crucial role in creating a virtual worship experience so that people all around the world can tune in! Let's make our online services a place everyone can connect, grow, and find hope.

Online Hosts are “people persons” who extend a warm welcome, foster connection, patiently encourage, and offer support to our online attendees by responding in the chat during live services. Hosts respond to prayer requests in private, one-on-one text sessions.
Stream Production - Run the online streaming studio for our live Sunday morning services.
Video Production - Edit our weekly videos that are posted on the website and app and are to be shown on cable television.
Creative Team

The Creative Team crafts inspiring and visually captivating experiences to foster a sense of community and make a positive impact in the lives of others. Whether you're a social media guru, a talented photographer or videographer, a graphic/web designer, a writer/editor, or an interior design enthusiast, there's a place to contribute your talents.

Social Media - add stories to the Northridge Instagram to show what a Sunday morning looks like from your perspective.
Photography - take photos on Sunday mornings and other events that may occur throughout the week.
Video - assist with shooting b-roll and/or editing videos for various projects.
Graphic/Web Design - help to brainstorm and create digital designs for social media, our website, sermon series, and other special projects or events.
Writing/Editing - help to write or edit creative stories and marketing content.
Other Creative Skills - Do you have other creative passions and skills such as pottery, calligraphy, etc? Let us know by filling out the form.
Deaf Access Team

The Deaf Access Team plays a crucial role in ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. Their dedicated efforts in interpreting services and captioning videos bridge the communication gap, enabling Deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees to participate actively in worship and church activities.

Interpreters - Interpret Worship and Sermons on Sunday mornings and events throughout the week for our Deaf and hard-of-hearing community members.
Captioning - Work behind-the-scenes captioning videos to make them accessible.
Build Relationships - If you know ASL or are willing to learn, we’d love to have you build relationships with our DHOH community by sitting near the interpreter on Sunday mornings at 9:45 to help build relationships and connections.

The First Response Team members are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for you and your family. The team is prepared to assist during a medical or healthcare event and ready to secure the premises in a fire or other emergency. Potential team members with a healthcare or security background are preferred, but we are eager to speak with you if you think this is your service area.

Our Hospitality Team creates a welcoming environment for our visitors and members. As a team, we strive to provide a warm smile, a handshake, a cup of coffee, a conversation, a simple hello and establish a connection to create that “home” feeling. If you want to help others feel welcomed and connected and strive to create that home feeling, join this team!

Greeters - Meet each person with a smile as they enter the building and auditorium. Guide visitors to ministry areas when needed, and answer any questions a visitor may have.
Ushers - Help guide people to available seats, help with communion, hand-outs, and tidying up the auditorium after services.
Cafe - Make and serve coffee and lemonade on Sunday mornings in our cafe environment. Be a part of setup before the 1st service or clean up after the 3rd service.
Food Ministry - provide meals for Sunday morning volunteers or other special events.
Connections - Stand at our Connections Table and help new attendees feel welcomed by answering questions and guiding them in understanding next steps to take in their faith.
Special Events - Help to plan, set up/break down, decorate & staff events throughout the year. (i.e. ministry celebrations, lobby activities, registrations, etc.)
Kids Ministry

The Kids Ministry Team partners with parents to create an atmosphere for our children to learn biblical truth, grow in their faith, and make Christian friends. Come alongside our Kids as they learn about Jesus through songs, teaching, and hands-on activities.

Check-In - Greet families and assist parents with check-in.
Nursery - Care for our littlest ones in the nursery so their parents can engage in weekend services.
Preschool Teachers - Lead crafts, activities, worship, and engagingly teach the Bible story and build relationships with the kids.
Preschool Assistants - Assist preschool teachers and build relationships with the kids.
Elementary Small Group Leaders - Facilitate engaging discussion and application of the lesson and build relationships with the kids.
Elementary Small Group Assistants - Assist small group leaders and build relationships with the kids.
Elementary Large Group Storytellers - Engage kids during large group by clearly presenting the Bible story.
Additional Support - Aide a child with special needs.
Tech - Assist Storytellers by running sound and tech components during large group.
Music - Engage elementary kids in energetic and enthusiastic worship.

The Prayer Team prays for our church family on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. This team is dedicated to coming alongside our church, community, and the world through the power of prayer and Godly dependence.

Young Adults (NYA)

The NYA Team creates monthly events for young adults in their 20s and 30s who are looking to grow in their faith, become better leaders, and find community. If you’re a young adult looking to serve alongside other young adults, come to an event on the third Saturday of every month as we worship, serve, and fellowship together.

Youth Ministry (NYM)

The NYM Team partners with parents to create an atmosphere for our teens to learn biblical truth, grow in their faith, and make Christian friends. Come alongside our teens on Wednesday nights as they worship Jesus through songs, listen to a sermon, and engage in small group discussions.

Small Group Leaders - Work with teens directly by being present on Wednesday nights at NYM to help guide the discussion and be a safe listening ear for them to turn to. Additionally, check in with your group occasionally during the week outside of NYM scheduled events.
Support/Mentors - Help guide and support our small group leaders.
Administration - Work administratively behind the scenes to help keep our programs runnings smoothly.
Events - Offer the extra support we need at special events throughout the year, such as Saranak, Snow Camp, Summer Nights on the Pavement, etc.
Music & Production

The Music & Production Teams lead our church in worship and praise on Sunday mornings. Whether live from stage or behind the scenes, these roles are crucial for providing a distraction-free atmosphere to help people actively engage in worship.

Sound (Thursday rehearsals required) - Mixing the sound heard by the in-room audience or the online audience.
Camera - Capture live footage of our weekend gatherings that will be streamed to our other campuses and projected on our auditorium screens.
Lighting Tech - Cue the lights at the appropriate times during the service to ensure people can engage without distractions.
Graphics Tech - Cue slides and videos throughout the service to ensure people can engage without distractions.
Stage Crew - Assist in carrying out the sermon table and any other items needed for a sermon illustration on a Sunday morning.
