1. Where is a place that feels like a home away from home for you?

DISCUSSION

1. Describe what it looks like to you to feel like you “fit in”. Now describe what it looks and feels like to “not fit in”.

2. What stood out to you from today’s message about that idea?

DIG DEEPER

Read John 4:4-9

1.      How do you see Jesus pursuing a relationship with the woman in the text?

2.    To culture, it didn’t make sense for Jesus to be interacting with the Samaritan woman as He did.

   1.   What about your life might cause you to doubt that God wants a relationship with you?

   2. How does Jesus and His example refute that in the story of the woman at the well?

Read John 1:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28

1. What does it mean to be ‘children of God"‘?

APPLICATION

1.   What roles in life do you find your identity, security, and purpose in? What happens when those fail you?

   1. How might you live those roles differently knowing who you are first a child of God?

2.   Where have you hidden or ignored your identity in Christ in order to fit in with others? Is there someone you need to ask for forgiveness? 

3.   How can you follow Jesus’ example this week of sitting and talking with someone who was nothing like Him in order to show them God’s love?
