KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of October 18th

We hope that you and your family are enjoying the beautiful fall weather and are enjoying all the things that make fall in Rochester so amazing! Last week we shared some resources for you to use to help review each week’s lessons with your kids at home. This week, we have one more resource we want to share with our parents of preschoolers. Our preschoolers have been using the Bible App for Kids curriculum. One of the best things about this curriculum is that there are a bunch of resources to accompany the curriculum. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you download the free Bible App for Kids app. There is also a Bible that you can purchase to use at home. To learn more about the app or the Bible, click here to learn more. Finally, there are some extra parent resources that you can use to help keep the conversation going!

Finally, make sure that you and your kids attend one of our campuses on Sunday, November 1st! We will be having a orange day and would love to see all of our kids representing Kids Ministry by wearing something orange that day! Check back next week for more details about this fun Sunday.

Check out our weekly experience guide below!

Preschool Resources

Bible Story: Stones, Slings and Giants Things—David and Goliath

Big Idea: A heart that matches God’s heart is ready to do what is good! But how do you know if your heart matches God’s heart? Get to know God through the Bible, singing to God and praying.

Step 1: Watch the video with your preschoolers.

Step 2: Review with your kids.

Ask your kids: How can your heart match God’s heart? (I get to know God!)

Step 3: Practice the Memory Verse with your preschoolers.

Memory Verse: “... be ready to do what is good.” Titus 3:1 NIRV

Step 4: Print the Adventure Guide to use with your preschooler throughout the week.

Elementary Resources

STEP 1: Review the Life Application for the month

Life App: Integrity—Choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do

STEP 2: Read the BIble Passage with your kids

Bible Story: A Matter of Trust (Naaman and Elisha's Servant) • 2 Kings 5

STEP 3: Watch the Video with your Kids (Ideal for Kindergarten-3rd grade).

Or watch this Video with your Kids (ideal for 4th-5th graders).

STEP 4: Practice this month’s Bible Verse with your kids.

Memory Verse: “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” Proverbs 10:9 (NIV)

STEP 5: Review with your kids.

Bottom Line: When you’re not truthful, you lose trust.

Ask Your Kids: Why do you think integrity is so important? Why is it important for people to trust you?

STEP 6: Print the God Time and use throughout the week.
