KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of January 17th
This month, our theme in Elementary is “Subscribe Now.” Through apps like YouTube, Instagram or Facebook, we have the ability to follow people from all over the world. The ability to “subscribe now” gives people the impression that connection is that easy. But connection takes a bit more effort, it takes following and learning from those we want to know. Kids look for places of belonging, places where forgiveness exists, places where they can experience a genuine connection. The Gospels teach us that places like these exist. In these stories kids learn that we can know God through Jesus, we can know forgiveness because of Jesus, that Jesus knows us and wants us to follow him. The message of Jesus is powerful and something we can subscribe to!

Next month, our theme in our Elementary environments will be “Challenge Accepted”. With the Super Bowl coming up and the sports theme associated with next month, we are going to encourage kids to wear their favorite sports jersey or team shirt (ANY sport) on Sunday, February 7th. We think this will be a fun way to kick off our month learning about how Jesus helps us face challenges.

Big Idea: God loves everybody, so He helps you love everybody. Show you’re friends with God by sharing with others and caring for them. Help them when they need it! Be a good friend by telling everybody about Jesus and what He did so they can
Step 1: Watch the video with your preschoolers.
Step 2: Review with your kids.
Ask your kids: How does God help you be a good friend? (God helps me care and share!)
Step 3: Practice the Memory Verse with your preschoolers.
Memory Verse: “Share with God’s people who are in need. ....” Romans 12:13 NIRV
Step 4: Print the Adventure Guide to use with your preschooler throughout the week.
