I realized, though, that the tears welling up in my eyes were not the joy that I felt for her. They were there because I wished I was posting about my engagement, and not her. So began my battle with discontentment and loneliness.

Stephen Wittmer I was single all through my twenties, and I enjoyed it a lot of the time. But, all in all, I found singleness pretty tough. There were seasons of terrible loneliness when I wondered if God would ever give me a lifelong companion. I wish someone had helped me understand, and then live, my singleness in the light of eternity.
