Rock Resources
Rock on Mobile
There is no official “Rock App” for access to our database. Down the road we might build a church app that connects with Rock, but this is different than an app to browse and search in our database. That being said, our Rock database is very mobile friendly. You can visit rock.northridgerochester.com from your mobile phone’s browser, log into the system, and navigate person profiles and other features fairly smoothly. So bookmark the link on your phone!
Google Search
To be honest, the fastest way we’ve found to answer a question is to google your question and the term “rockrms”. That tends to quickly find an answer on the forums of the Rock website. For example, if we want to add a new child to a family, we might google “how to add a child rockrms” and we’ll quickly see a number of results from the documentation, manuals, and Rock forums!
Rock U is a massive collection of videos, from a minute in length to some that are nearly 20 minutes long. They are put together by the Rock team to help explore all the different facets of Rock and the idea behind each part. It’s like a manual for the entire system in video form.
This is the hub of resources for the Rock, provided by the Rock community.
Rock Manuals and Documentation
Rock has dozens of user guides that will walk you through all the settings, materials, etc, in Rock. Feel free to browse the documents specific to your area to learn more and explore additional ways we could utilize Rock to help us move our ministry further faster!
You’ll need to have a login with the Rock Community to be able to use the Rock Chat (this is not the same as a login for our own Rock database). The Rock Chat is a tool that looks and feels like Slack, but will allow you to post questions that Rock Developers or other Rock Users can answer. Do you want to do something new or interesting with Rock? You might ask your question here and someone else who knows the answer or has wrestled with that question already is likely to answer!
The Rock Public Demo is a Rock database that is fully accessible to anyone, from any church, anywhere. It has some fake people, groups, etc. If you want to toy around in a copy of Rock without fear of breaking anything, feel free to play around in there. Please note, it resets every night at midnight, so any changes you make will be gone by the next day. Over time, the public demo will be less and less helpful, because we’ll be continually updating our Rock and it will look less and less like the demo version.
This is a more advanced section of Rock that explores special projects, workflows, add-ons, or code snippets that will allow Rock to do more interesting, powerful, and helpful things. If you are feeling confident in your use of the Rock and want to start to really move things forward, feel free to explore here!
