Parent Cue: week of August 30th

Hey parents we love to provide resources to help you, as the spiritual leaders of your homes, to inspire faith in your kids. Don’t forget about the recommended devotional resources that we hope your kids enjoyed this month. Those are linked below along with his weeks teaching resources!

  • Elementary— As we continue to learn about Creativity all month long we want to suggest another week long devotional from the Bible App. This devotional is called How Great Is Our God. Check it out by going here or find it in the reading plans on your Bible App. If your kids enjoy these devotionals, you can purchase the books these are based on by clicking here for How Great is Our God or by clicking here for Indescribable.

  • Preschool— If you haven’t done so already, don’t forget to download the BIble App for Kids app. This free interactive app walks kids through the Bible and accompanies the curriculum we are currently using. Or if you would rather have a book version you can find that here.

Preschool Resources

Bible Story: Dreams Come True—Joseph’s rise to power (Genesis 39-45)

Big Idea: You can be a good example for your friends to copy when you live like Jesus. Copy Jesus by making right choices, helping, saying kind words, and sharing!

Ask your kids: How can I be a good example? (I can live like Jesus!)

Memory Verse:Set an example ... in what you say and in how you live.” 1 Timothy 4:12 NIrV

Elementary Resources

Life App: Creativity—Imagining what you could do because you’re made in God’s image

Memory Verse: “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.” Psalm 145:3 (NIV)

Bible Story: Where You Lead (Salt and Light) • Matthew 5:13-16

Bottom Line: God created you to share His story

Ask Your Kids: Who first told you about God’s story?

What makes it hard to tell others about Jesus? What do we worry will happen if we tell people about Jesus? How can we overcome our fears?
