KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of May 23rd

If your family has been a part of Northridge Kids for a while, no doubt you’ve heard us talk about how we are passionate about partnering with parents! We love that not only does our Kids Ministry offer opportunities to partner with parents but our Outreach team is also excited to partner with families. One of our partner ministries is called David’s Refuge. David’s Refuge provides respite, resources and support to parents and guardians of children with special needs or life threatening medical conditions where they will be refreshed, restored, and renewed.

For any David’s Refuge parents that are new to our ministry, we would love to partner with you in two ways. First, by subscribing to our blog, you will receive a weekly email with resources to lead your kids throughout the week. Below you will find resources for both Preschool (ages 2-5) and Elementary (Kindergarten-5th grade). You can choose to walk your kids step by step through this weekly experience or pick and choose which tools are most helpful for reviewing what your kids learned. If you are a looking for a more personal experience at one of our three campuses, you can fill out this form and we will be in touch with you this week.

NEXT LEVEL EVENT: We have LOVED having our 5th graders be a part of Kids Ministry for so many years! Some of them have been a part of Northridge Kids Ministry since they were born. We will be sad to see them graduate from our ministry but we are so excited to see them move up into NYM, our middle and high school ministry. To help our current 5th graders and their parents, NYM is hosting this special event to introduce them to our NYM team and help them know what to expect. This event will be held both at our Rochester Campus and our Webster Campus directly after our last service. We will have content recorded for the Online Campus. We hope to see you June 6th, 2021 from 12:30PM to 1:30PM. More information to come but for now, save this date to your calendar!

Check out this week’s resources below. Hope you can enjoy this beautiful week!

Preschool Resources

Bible Story: The First Sin

Big Idea: Wisdom is knowing what’s right and choosing to do it. Ask God for wisdom. Listen to what He says. Stay on God’s path, and live like Jesus. Don’t make the wrong choice like Adam and Eve did when they disobeyed God.

Step 1: Watch the video with your preschoolers.

Step 2: Review with your kids.

Ask your kids: How do you make the right choice? (I ask God! God helps me make the right choice!)

Step 3: Practice the Memory Verse with your preschoolers.

Memory Verse: “...If any of you need wisdom, ask God for it ...” James 1:5 NIRV

Step 4: Print the Adventure Guide to use with your preschooler throughout the week.

Elementary Resources

STEP 1: Read the Bible Passage with your kids

Bible Story: The Holy Spirit Appears at Pentecost • Acts 2:1-21; 28:23-31; (Psalm 139:7-10)

STEP 2: Choose a worship video to sing with your kids

STEP 3: Watch the Video with your Kids

STEP 4: Practice this month’s Bible Verse with your kids.

Memory Verse: “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” Romans 8:14 NIV

STEP 5: Review with your kids.

Big Idea: The Holy Spirit is for everyone.

Ask Your Kids: How does knowing that the Holy Spirit is for everyone affect how you treat others?
