KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of April 18th
Hey parents, we have two resources we’d like to recommend for you and your kids. If you haven’t used the YouVersion app before, we would definitely recommend downloading this free Bible app or simply go to bible.com. There are hundreds of different reading plans/devotionals on a wide range of topics for kids, teens and adults. One particular plan, Growing in Truth, has a version for parents and a version for kids so you can be studying God’s Word alongside your kids. To locate these plans, search “Growing in Truth” in the app or click on the links below.
Beechwood Blossoms Giving Project: Our current giving project for kids will benefit 411 Ministries Beechwood, one of our Beyond partners that helps to strengthen families and end poverty in our city. They planted the 441 Beechwood Community Garden to help provide fresh produce in the neighborhood and to create a place to build community. The garden has 31 raised plots for growing fruits and veggies and works to share food with those in need in the community! Let’s help the Beechwood Garden by raising $500 for soil and seeds this SPRING! We now have a new opportunity for you to give! You can give online to Beechwood Blossoms by texting “Northridge” to 77977 and select “Beechwood Blossoms” under the fund dropdown menu.
Check out this week’s resources below! Thanks for partnering with us!
Preschool Resources
Bible Story: A HAPPY SUNDAY: The Empty Tomb
Big Idea: Our sins separate us from God, but God had a plan of grace to bring us back to friendship with Him. Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. He rose again three days later. We accept God’s grace by choosing to believe Jesus lives again and asking for His forgiveness and leadership.
Step 1: Watch the video with your preschoolers.
Step 2: Review with your kids.
Ask your kids: How can I be God’s friend? (Jesus makes me God’s friend because I believe He lives again!)
Step 3: Practice the Memory Verse with your preschoolers.
Memory Verse: “...believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, ...” Romans 10:9 NLT
Step 4: Print the Adventure Guide to use with your preschooler throughout the week.
