KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of May 2
It’s hard to believe that it’s already May! A new month means new themes in all of our Kids Environments.
PRESCHOOL: This month our Preschoolers will be learning about The First Sin. The story of God's grace begins in the Garden of Eden. This five-part lesson walks your preschoolers through the first sin of Adam and Eve. The First Sin teaches your kids how to weigh if something is a sin or not and how to obey God because He cares for us.
ELEMENTARY: There is a legacy waiting, for every kid everywhere. The legacy has been handed down like a valuable family heirloom and this month kids will learn about what that legacy is! The Holy Spirit is the legacy that Jesus gives to every person who believes. The Holy Spirit is for everyone and helps us so much. The Holy spirit helps us know God, love everyone, do God’s work, and makes us a part of God’s family.
Have you had an opportunity to check out all of the resources for kids on RightNow Media? RightNow Media is like the Netflix of Bible resources for adults and kids. You can sign up for a free account through Northridge Church. One great resource is the “What’s in the Bible?” series by Phil Vischer, creator of Veggie Tales. This series helps kids understand how all 66 books of the Bible fit together to tell one big, redemptive story. Here is a video that talks more about the Holy Spirit and will help to reinforce the stories your kids will be learning about all month long.
Art of Parenting is an 8 week Equip course that will help parents to grow in their role as the spiritual leader of their home as well as to provide some fresh insights into parenting at each stage of life. Art of Parenting begins NEXT Sunday, May 9th and is offered on Sunday mornings at all three of our campuses: Rochester, Webster, and Online. Come learn, grow, and meet other parents in the journey of pointing your kids to Jesus.

Beechwood Blossoms Giving Project: Thanks to everyone who donated to the Beechwood Blossoms Giving Project. Our kids raised $361.94 to help the 441 Beechwood Community Garden provide fresh produce in the neighborhood and to create a place to build community.

Preschool Resources
Bible Story: The First Sin
Big Idea: Wisdom is knowing what’s right and choosing to do it. Ask God for wisdom. Listen to what He says. Stay on God’s path, and live like Jesus. Don’t make the wrong choice like Adam and Eve did when they disobeyed God.
Step 1: Watch the video with your preschoolers.
Step 2: Review with your kids.
Ask your kids: How do you make the right choice? (I ask God! God helps me make the right choice!)
Step 3: Practice the Memory Verse with your preschoolers.
Memory Verse: “...If any of you need wisdom, ask God for it ...” James 1:5 NIRV
Step 4: Print the Adventure Guide to use with your preschooler throughout the week.
