Seed Packing

Pack Seeds. Plant Hope.

1 week.
10 sessions.
800 people.
25,000 seed packets.

For families facing poverty, a handful of seeds holds the potential to provide a meal for today and a source of stability for tomorrow.

These seeds aren’t just about food—they represent hope, dignity, and opportunity. Each pack provides a family the ability to grow up to 2,000 pounds of vegetables, offering nourishment and a source of income.

What is Seed Packing?

Our church helps to resource churches in Malawi to fight poverty through the Global LIft Collective! We have heard from them a desire to give seeds as a way of supporting community development and growth. Across our campuses, we have committed to pack seeds for 25,000 families! These seeds will be sent across the ocean to churches in Malawi.

Going beyond our walls to strengthen families,
fight poverty, and
seek justice.

Seed packs are a source of hope for our Global Lift Collective partners. There are countless stories of churches and families receiving seeds and agricultural training and then being able to provide in new ways for their families. Seeds can provide essential nourishment for families and opportunities for additional income, and they also support the agricultural programs that our global partners are carrying out. They tell us the type and quantity of seeds needed and we pack then ship them to Malawi!

Did you know? Northridge not only partners with Global Lift Collective, but has been a part of forging the collective from the beginning!

The Impact

A simple act with lasting impact — A single heritage seed can turn into a harvest that sustains a family for generations.

Most seeds in the market have been genetically engineered to prevent the crops from producing seeds that can be replanted for future harvests. The seeds we are packing are heritage seeds that will provide a harvest year after year.

Partnering with the Global Church — The local church is uniting on the logistical front to ensure seeds leaving Rochester are placed directly in the hands of families who need them most.

Please Pray

In a posture of humility, we ask our all-powerful God:

  • To protect these seeds as they travel to Malawi

  • To bring growth to the churches that receive them

  • To send good rain and a HUGE harvest!

  • To deepen the faith of those who grow these seeds

  • To bring hope to those facing the hardest circumstances

  • To give joy to all whose hands touch these seeds
