Baptism: David Mendez
For years, David attended church but felt he could never grasp the messages. Life was rough. He worked long hours, lost several friends, and his grades were suffering. Life seemed more and more difficult with each passing day. Eventually, he began distancing himself from his family as he faced depression.
Little did he know that God still walked with him in this dark valley. It was the night of Cinco de Mayo; he was at a party with some friends when he realized the woman he loved didn’t like the man he was becoming. Scared, he left the party and locked himself in his room. Searching for answers to his emotions, he began to pray. He begged for God to fix him, to no longer feel unworthy.
He was at the lowest point in his life when God answered him. He felt the holy spirit lift the weight he’d been carrying and fill his heart with peace. Today David acknowledges that he has a relationship with God. Life is temporary, and with the time he has left, he’s going to use it to pour into God.
