Baptism: Mary Nikitkova

Mary was born into a Christian family. She accepted the Lord when she was five and again when she was about twelve years old before her family stopped going to church. Things began to get rocky for Mary and her family as her faith started to get tested. Her parents stopped getting along with each other, and this discouraged Mary from going to church.

Instead, she pursued partying and drinking. As things got worse at home with her parent’s divorce, Mary found herself lonely, frustrated, and without friends. She found herself so angry at the situation that she started blocking everyone on her phone but she couldn’t pull herself to block her past friend, Lily. Instead, she felt compelled to reach out to her. Lily was quick to respond and even invited Mary to her community group. It was a tough choice, but a chance Mary was willing to take. It was a fun hangout worth the risk.

Looking back, Mary realized God was always there for her. He has shown her again and again that no matter how many times she would try to do things her own way, she would always need the Lord’s direction in her life. As soon as she chose to let go, she realized God’s way was better than anything she could ever have imagined.
