Baptism: Mike Lucas

Mike grew up in a christian environment, going to church and a christian school, but it was not something he ever understood. He never thought about what it meant to be a christian and walk with God but was just going through the motions. When given the option as a young adult, he went to public school and walked away from the church until he was married.

Mike and his wife found Northridge after searching for a church to go to, and they found great friends through their community group. Things turned a corner in his life when he heard a sermon preached by Drew about letting go of pride, which showed him his lack of trust in God and his desire to have control. Now, he realizes that to be a christian is to give up his understanding of what he thinks he’s supposed to do and give his trust to God.
