Baptism: Shayne Stevenson
Growing up throughout high school, Shayne wrestled with the vices of lust and loneliness, feeling constantly depressed. He realized that he was being destroyed through the lust, but due to lacking love he kept seeking it. Without Christ, he struggled to get to know someone for them.
One day, Aaron Hixson sent Shayne a message saying he was praying for him. This helped him realize that he needed to get back to church, and he began reading the gospels. While doing that, Shayne came across the parable of the lost sheep and realized that God didn’t want any of His children to perish. This motivated him to start his day by reading scripture so that he can be more like Christ. He realized that he could not battle his vices without Christ.
Today, in all of his interactions, he tries to preach the word when others are open to listening to it. He sees the fruit of the Spirit in these interactions as he spreads God’s word.
Today, Shayne is getting baptized to remind the world what Christ has done for him and that He is the leader of his life.
