  1. If you could write a book about any topic what would it be?

DISCUSSION (Choose 2-3 - 10 mins)

  1. What stood out to you from today’s message?

  2. Why is reading important? Why is it important for our souls?

  3. In the message we heard that our problem is that we live lies. What lies have you lived? 

    1. How does reading slowly/deeply help?

  4. What should we read slowly and think deeply about?

    1. How does this help us grow in wisdom?

  5. Why is it helpful to read books that challenge you?

DIGGING DEEPER (10 Minutes)

  1. Read 1 Peter 5:8-9

    1. What four  things does Peter encourage us to do?

    2. What does this text say about the devil?

    3. How can you apply this to your life?

  2. Read Psalm 119:97-104

    1. How does thinking deeply about who God is help combat lies that come into our mind?

APPLICATION (10-12 minutes)

  1. Why is it challenging for you to think slowly and read deeply?

  2. Think about lies that you have/are believing. When do they typically present themselves?

    1. Is there something you can replace with Bible reading/a Christian book to combat those?

  3. Think about the book you shared about during the ice breaker. How could the story of that book point to the greatest story: the story of Jesus?

  4. What is one action step you can take to help you read slowly and think deeply?
