Small Group Questions

ICE BREAKER (5 mins)

1. If you could be in the Guiness book of world records, what record would you try to break?

DISCUSSION (Choose 2 - 10 mins)

(Ask students to recap the message).

1. What stood out to you from today’s message?

2. Why do we need the church in addition to the Bible as a source of wisdom?

3. Why is the church’s status as a family so important?

4. How have you seen Biblical community look different than other areas of community?

DIGGING DEEPER (10 Minutes)

1. Read Hebrews 10:24-25; Proverbs 27:17; and  Acts 2:42

   1. Write/share something you observed about Biblical community from these verses.

   2. Are there any concepts repeated in these verses?

      1. How do you see those accomplished in NYM/Biblical communities you are a part of?

APPLICATION (10-12 minutes)

1. Share about when you first began coming to NYM - describe your experience. 

2. How has the church helped you grow in your relationship with God? Be specific!

3. Write or share one word to describe what the church/NYM has been to you (For example, ‘home’; ‘encouraging’, etc.)

4. How are you currently involved in the church/Biblical community? (On Wednesday nights, on Sundays, and during the week)

5. What is one way you can get more involved in Biblical community?

   1. At NYM?

   2. Serving on Sundays

   3. Attending Sunday service

   4. Meeting with Biblical community outside of the church walls
