KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of July 25th

This week all of our kids environments are learning that peace is when God helps us to be calm no matter what is going on around us. We love that our entire church is learning about the fruit of the spirit together. Parents naturally want to see these values in their children's lives. Today we have a devotional recommendation to help parents partner with the Holy Spirit as their children grow. From toddlers to teenagers, you can adapt these principles for any age. To preview this devotional, go here or search the YouVersion Bible app for “Developing The Fruit Of The Spirit In Your Child”.

In addition to the devotional above, we are excited to offer an opportunity for families to further study God’s Word together. Each week, we will provide a devotional that adults can use to dig deeper into our study from Sunday. In addition, there are questions to discuss as a family as well as a fun sheet that kids an use to study the passage themselves. The sheet walks kids through the S.O.A.P. method. Simply follow these steps…

  • SCRIPTURE—Choose a verse or a passage to read. A good place to start is to use the passage listed on the back of the devotional page (see above) that applies to this week’s lesson.

  • OBSERVATION—Write down interesting facts or points you see in this Scripture. This is a great place to ask some who, what, when, where, why questions.

  • APPLICATION—Ask yourself, “How does this apply to my life?” For younger kids ask, “What will you do today because of what you read?” Let them fill in the blank, “I Will __________ today.”

  • PRAYER—Ask God to help you. Kids can write out a simple prayer to God or use that spot to list out the things they are praying for. You can find the sheet here:
