KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of August 22nd

This week, our entire church, from two year olds to 92 year olds are learning about the fruit of faithfulness. We can learn to be faithful by looking to God who is always faithful to us. Here is a great article from Risen Motherhood on the importance of faithfulness as we raise our children. While your there, check out the other resources and articles they have on the Fruit of the Spirit or follow them on Instagram for encouragement in how to live out the Fruit of the Spirit with your kids.

Don’t forget that we also have our family devotional that accompanies this series. This devotional contains multiple discussion questions that are great for engaging your kids in conversations about each Fruit of the Spirit. The other side of the sheet walks kids through the S.O.A.P. method so that they can learn a simple method for studying ANY passage of Scripture. Use the Scripture passage on the front of the sheet and then follow these steps…

  • SCRIPTURE—Choose a verse or a passage to read. A good place to start is to use the passage listed on the back of the devotional page (see above) that applies to this week’s lesson.

  • OBSERVATION—Write down interesting facts or points you see in this Scripture. This is a great place to ask some who, what, when, where, why questions.

  • APPLICATION—Ask yourself, “How does this apply to my life?” For younger kids ask, “What will you do today because of what you read?” Let them fill in the blank, “I Will __________ today.”

  • PRAYER—Ask God to help you. Kids can write out a simple prayer to God or use that spot to list out the things they are praying for. You can find the sheet here:
