KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of August 29th

This week all of our kids environments are learning that gentleness is being kind and compassionate to others. If you or your kids are looking for resources to learn more about the fruit of the spirit, you can check out this video series called Bibleman. You can find this set of videos on RightNow Media. If you haven’t signed up for your free account, click HERE to get access to this amazing tool. Once you are logged in, search under the Kids tab for Bibleman and look for this series, Clobbering The Crusher (An Adventure in Gentleness). Based on the Bible story of Rehoboam, this adventure offers a lesson in gentleness.

Don’t forget that we also have our family devotional that accompanies this series. This devotional contains multiple discussion questions that are great for engaging your kids in conversations about each Fruit of the Spirit. The other side of the sheet walks kids through the S.O.A.P. method so that they can learn a simple method for studying ANY passage of Scripture. Use the Scripture passage on the front of the sheet and then follow these steps…

  • SCRIPTURE—Choose a verse or a passage to read. A good place to start is to use the passage listed on the back of the devotional page (see above) that applies to this week’s lesson.

  • OBSERVATION—Write down interesting facts or points you see in this Scripture. This is a great place to ask some who, what, when, where, why questions.

  • APPLICATION—Ask yourself, “How does this apply to my life?” For younger kids ask, “What will you do today because of what you read?” Let them fill in the blank, “I Will __________ today.”

  • PRAYER—Ask God to help you. Kids can write out a simple prayer to God or use that spot to list out the things they are praying for. You can find the sheet here:
