KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of September 5th

Happy Labor Day! Hope you enjoy this last week of summer with your families!

We hope that you have enjoyed the family devotionals that we’ve been providing with this series. Below is the final devotional on self control. This devotional contains multiple discussion questions that are great for engaging your kids in conversations. The other side of the sheet walks kids through the S.O.A.P. method so that they can learn a simple method for studying ANY passage of Scripture. Use the Scripture passage on the front of the sheet and then follow these steps…

  • SCRIPTURE—Choose a verse or a passage to read. A good place to start is to use the passage listed on the back of the devotional page (see above) that applies to this week’s lesson.

  • OBSERVATION—Write down interesting facts or points you see in this Scripture. This is a great place to ask some who, what, when, where, why questions.

  • APPLICATION—Ask yourself, “How does this apply to my life?” For younger kids ask, “What will you do today because of what you read?” Let them fill in the blank, “I Will __________ today.”

  • PRAYER—Ask God to help you. Kids can write out a simple prayer to God or use that spot to list out the things they are praying for. You can find the sheet here:

See what your kids are learning this week by checking out the resources below. Have a great week!
