KiDS Weekly Experience Guide & Parent Cue: week of October 31st

What an amazing Sunday we had last week! It was awesome to see 90 people go forward to make a public declaration of their decision to follow Jesus. We saw Kids Ministry volunteers get baptized as well as kids and teens that have grown up in our ministry. It is a blessing to witness how God is moving in people’s lives and we are grateful for every opportunity to partner with parents to see more kids become better followers of Jesus.

Giving Project: Northridge’s Beyond team hosted a Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 30th for two of our amazing partners that strengthen families in Rochester, David's Refuge & RISE Community School 106! Thank-you to everyone who donated candy, money or their time to help make this event a success!

This week’s resources are listed below. Have a great week!

Bible Story: A Roaring Rescue — Daniel in the Lions’ Den

Big Idea: God is bigger and stronger than any scary thing, and our big, strong God is always with us. God promises to help you when you’re afraid. This story of Daniel in the lion's den will teach kids about trusting in God in the face of any fear!

Step 1: Watch the video with your preschoolers.

Step 2: Review with your kids.

Ask your kids: What do you say when you’re afraid? (Goodbye, fear! God is here!)

Step 3: Practice the Memory Verse with your preschoolers.

“...the LORD your God ... says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13 NIV

Step 4: Print the Adventure Guide to use with your preschooler throughout the week.

Elementary Resources

STEP 1: Read the Bible Passage with your kids

Bible Story: Elisha and Naaman : 2 Kings 5:1-19

Naaman was a well-liked army commander who had a skin disease called leprosy. Leprosy was a horrible disease, for which there was no cure. Naaman had a young servant girl helping in his home. The girl suggested that Naaman should go to the prophet, Elisha, in Israel to be healed. So Naaman went to see Elisha. Elisha told him to wash in the Jordan River seven times, and he would be healed. Naaman was angry when he heard this because he did not expect to be cured this way. However, Naaman decided to obey and was healed. He realized that God is the one true God who can do things no one else can.

STEP 2: Choose a worship video to sing with your kids

STEP 3: Watch the Video with your Kids

STEP 4: Practice this month’s Bible Verse with your kids.

Memory Verse: “No one is like you, Lord; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.” Jeremiah 10:6 NIV

STEP 5: Review with your kids.

Big Idea: God can do things no one else can.

This story helps us address three kinds of questions that kids may have. They are our He (God question), our We (people question), and our Me (purpose question) for this week.

Ask Your Kids:

  • Our He Question about God: What makes God so great?

  • Our We Question about people: What should we do about how great God is?

  • Our Me Question about our purpose: If God can do anything, why doesn’t He do what I want Him to do?
