Baptism: Josh Van De Mark

Josh went to mass with his family when he was younger, but this tapered off when football and sports consumed his life. He went to college and was involved with the track team at Slippery Rock University, and while he had a blessed life, he felt something was missing without God being in it.

When Josh moved back from college, his friend Mike invited him to Northridge, and he tagged along. The messages brought him closer to God, as did getting in community with other believers through community group. One night, he realized his need to lean into God and place his faith in Him, so he stopped what he was doing and prayed to God to take control of his life.

Now, Josh thinks about Christ in even the little things in life, like the music he listens to and the people he talks to. He tells his friends about Northridge’s online services to get them to come closer to Christ. He feels he has become a better person.

Josh got baptized to publicly exclaim his love for Jesus, put his faith in Him publicly, and maybe inspire someone else to take that step.
