Baptism: Luke North

Luke’s life was pretty normal before he came to Christ. His parents took him to church regularly, and he identified as a Christian. He always prayed, knew classic Bible stories, and celebrated the holidays. But something was missing. He didn’t know what it was until the day he accepted Christ on July 21, 2024.

When Luke began attending Northridge, he didn’t enjoy worship music and always went to the gathering room until the sermon started each week. On the day he accepted Christ, an acquaintance asked him to join him and his family. Luke agreed, knowing he needed to get over his anxiety.  During the second song, a wave of emotion came over him. He cried after that and had to walk out to the welcome center to collect himself. That is where he met Bryan Blascheck.  Luke told him he wanted to give his life to Christ and start a relationship with the Lord. Bryan prayed with him.  After that, he entered the sanctuary again and heard the lesson on Luke 12: “Those who are rich unto themselves and do not invest their time in God are not rich in God’s eyes.”  That blew Luke’s mind. He chose to reach for God’s word instead of things on earth. He became intentional in prayer and reading the Scriptures like never before.

Luke wants to be baptized today to declare to his friends, coworkers, high school classmates, and the world that he is excited to be a child of God and walk with Christ.
