Baptism: Meghan Boudreau
Meghan grew up always going to a Catholic church. When she was six, she and her family joined Northridge, and they’ve been attending ever since.
At the age of twelve, she found out one of her friends had committed suicide, and it shook her world. She remembers praying with her family, but that was the last time she felt she really prayed. She had since returned to church but found she wouldn’t pay much attention anymore and was feeling very anxious. This led to a discovery that she has Dysthymia, which is a form of depression.
For a while, she found that she was compromising her beliefs by trying to impress people around her to the point that she needed to stop. One morning, she woke up and felt like God was speaking to her, telling her he was going to get her through this trial and showing her how he was going to make a way.
Meghan feels she’s grown exponentially over this past year and a half. She knows her boundaries now and God has helped place those boundaries within her life. She’s also found herself more courageous. Her anxieties aren’t completely gone but she knows she can confide in her parents and trust God through even the most difficult of moments.
